Sex Addiction

lakePornography. Infidelity. Anonymous sex. Massage parlors and strip clubs. Are you tired of living a double life? Are you wracked with guilt and shame because of your behaviors but unsure of where to go?  You don’t have to live a life of secrecy and shame anymore if you’re willing to break the shackles of silence and allow me to help guide your towards recovery.  Therapy is a good opportunity where you can discover not only behavioral techniques to stop your behaviors but also a chance to delve into the origin of your addiction.

Behaviors that are typical include the following (not an exhaustive list):

  • Compulsive masturbation (with our without pornography)
  • Pornography addiction
  • Use of erotic massage
  • Use of strip clubs, sex clubs, and/or other sexual environments
  • Sex with prostitutes
  • Casual hook-ups or anonymous sex
  • Voyeurism, exhibitionism, and other sex-offending behaviors
  • Affairs

There’s a reason for your compulsive behaviors but at this time you may feel just shame and self-condemnation especially when sex addiction is met with scrutiny unlike addictions to drugs, alcohol, pain medication.  This process will not only release you from the shame but also give you tools to free you from your addiction.

“Until you heal the wounds of your past, you will continue to bleed. You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex, but eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories, and make peace with them.”  —Iyanla Vanzant
